making Garp part of the East Blue arc is really funny because at the end of the first episode he gets all dramatic over hearing about the map being stolen by a pirate in a straw hat and first time viewers would be like “whoa, why is that so important? does he have some sort of past history with Shanks or Luffy that makes him an enemy?”
